Turn 8. Chandlers 180° right
One of the few overtaking places. You will need a run through the hook complex and down the outfield straight. The braking zone is very short, so be careful you don't knock your opponent - the marshals are well briefed and are watching.
There are 2 ways to defend; either turn in early - in which case the braking zone is so short you leave no opportunity to pass, or drive down the straight ½ a kart width from the left, forcing your opponent to compromise his entry whilst overtaking - then re-take on exit.
The corner itself is one of the few classic style corners left in karting. Drive it by the book - out wide on entry, apex in the middle, release the kart on exit, and tack out wide. |
